1 | Remove structure over transmission | ||
2 | Remove spare tire | ||
3 | Depress brake pedal several times in order to depressurize compressed air system | ||
4 | Tilt cab into repair position | ||
5 | Disconnect compressed air line (1) from pressure limiting valve (2) | ||
6 | Remove shield (3) | ||
7 | Detach drive shaft (4) from transmission | Screw/bolt, drive shaft to transmission flange | |
8 | Remove transmission wiring harness (5) from transmission | Installation: Replace cable tie. | |
9 | Mark and disconnect all electrical connections on the transmission wiring harness (5) | Installation: Pay attention to the markings on the electrical connectors. | |
10 | Mark and detach all air lines on the transmission wiring harness (5) | Installation: Note markings on air lines. | |
11 | Loosen vent lines of front and rear axle at transmission | ||
12 | Detach compressed air line (14) from transmission | ||
Danger ! | Risk of poisoning from swallowing brake fluid. Risk of injury from skin and eye contact with brake fluid | Only pour brake fluid into suitable and appropriately marked containers. Wear protective clothing and eye protection when handling brake fluid. | |
13 | Completely remove the brake lines mounted to the bracket (15) and seal the fitting for the brake lines using suitable stop plug | ||

14 | Mark installation position of torque ball housing on rear axle to transfer case housing (13) | ||
15 | Remove bolts (7) from torque ball housing | Bolt, torque ball housing to transfer case | |
16 | Secure torque tube (9) at top of frame using a tensioning strap | | |
17 | Using chain hoist, pull rear axle away from transfer case housing (13) until the bolts (11) of the drive shaft are accessible | Installation: Note marked installation position on torque ball housing. | |

18 | Remove torque ball shell halves in torque ball housing on rear axle and mark installation location of torque ball shell halves | Installation: The torque ball shell halves must be installed again at the same position. | |

20 | Remove screws/bolts (11) | Bolt, propeller shaft to rear axle output shaft flange | |
21 | Mark installation position of torque ball housing on front axle to transfer case housing (13) | ||
22 | Remove bolts (6) from torque ball housing | Bolt, torque ball housing to transfer case | |
23 | Secure torque tube (8) at top of frame using a tensioning strap | | |
24 | Using chain hoist pull front axle away from transfer case housing (13) until bolts (10) of drive shaft (12) are accessible | Installation: Clean sealing surfaces on torque ball housing and coat with sealant. | |
