1 Push front torque ball shell half (2) against torque ball housing (1) and measure protrusion "X".
Torque ball shell halves and torque ball housing must be deburred.
2 Determine thickness of shims.
Permissible preload: 0.1 to 0.2 mm.
Thickness of shim =
6.0 mm - X + permissible preload.
Example:
X = 4.0 mm (example)
Thickness of shim =
6.0 mm - 4.0 mm + 0.2 mm = 2.2 mm

3 Mount installation flange with shims of determined thickness and tighten bolts evenly.
4 Move installation flange up and down using an extension pipe (approx. 750 mm in length, 33 mm) .
It must be possible to move the installation flange without applying great force, install shim of different thickness if necessary.
