Risk of death caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform.

Align vehicle between vehicle lift columns and position the four support plates at the vehicle lift support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer.

Risk of injury to skin and eyes suffering scalding from contact with hot coolantspray. Risk of poisoning from swallowing coolant.

Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90 °C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers.
Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.

Remove bottom engine compartment paneling.

Remove underbody paneling.

Remove cap of coolant expansion reservoir (1).

 First, unscrew cap counterclockwise up to safety catch and release overpressure. Then unscrew the cap.



Check

Check coolant level.

If coolant level is insufficient:



Correct coolant level.

Attach tester cap (2) to coolant expansion reservoir (1).

Attach pressure pump (3) to tester cap (2).

Apply test pressure to engine cooling system.


Do not exceed the specified test pressure.
This prevents damage to the engine cooling system.

Check engine cooling system for coolant loss.

 Perform visual check on the top and bottom of the engine compartment. Perform visual check in vehicle interior.

If coolant loss or pressure loss is present:



Perform suitable repair measures depending on vehicle equipment.

 After obtaining special order.

Release test pressure in engine cooling system.

 To do this, actuate pressure relief button on the  pressure pump (3).

Remove pressure pump (3) with tester cap (2) from coolant expansion reservoir (1).

Check coolant level.

If coolant loss or pressure loss occurred during testing procedure.

If coolant level is insufficient:



Correct coolant level.

Install

Install lower engine compartment lining.
