Disconnect ground cable at battery

 Ensure that no accidental contact can occur between the ground cable and the negative battery terminal.



Take off engine compartment encapsulation below timing case

Remove last row of two seats at rear left above engine service flap

Open engine service flap in passenger compartment

Attach cranking device to timing case



Rotate engine until cylinder 1 is positioned at ignition TDC and remove screw at inspection hole (6)

 Set engine to start of delivery. Start of delivery marking on crankshaft must be aligned with the edge in the inspection hole.

Detach electrical plug connections (1) at the injection pump

Disconnect fuel line to flame starting system (2)

Take off bracket of the injection pump (4) at crankcase

Unscrew bolts at flange of injection
pump (5)

Take off injection pump

Install
