Remove/install

Remove camshaft positioner (4) of the exhaust camshaft.

Remove cap (10) at side of tensioning rail (2).

 Installation: Install new cap (10).

Remove sliding rail bolt (1).



Specified engine oils for Cars, Vans (service) - Overview

 For a slide rail pin (1) with thread M5, replace  spindle in  extractor.

 Installation: Wet slide rail pin (1) with engine oil.

Remove tensioning rail (2) upward.



Check

Check slide rail (5) for wear, galling and damage.

If there is a problem:



Replace tensioning rail (2) and slide rails (5, 6).

Check slide rail (6) with endoscope for wear, galling and damage.



Install in the reverse order.
