Remove/install

Remove bolt at cylinder head cover and remove oil pipe (5) from oil dipstick.

 Installation: Replace sealing ring.

Remove underride guard (1).

 Installation: Only install underride guard (1) after leak test.

Drain off engine oil and collect with suitable container.

Remove bracket (2) of automatic transmission oil line (3) at oil pan bottom section (6) and oil pan top section (7).

Remove banjo bolts (4) with automatic transmission oil lines (3) on right and left at transmission bell housing, place automatic transmission oil lines (3) to one side and collect oil with suitable container.

 Installation: Install new sealing rings.

Pry off drag link at steering arm.

 Installation: Apply sealant and observe notes on sealant path in this connection.

 Remove oil pan top section (7) in direction of travel towards front and slightly turn crankshaft in direction of engine rotation if necessary.

 Installation: Pay attention to different screw/bolt lengths and screw/bolt diameters.

Clean sealing surfaces at oil pan top section (7) and at crankcase.


Do not use any sharp-edged tools or abrasive paper.
The sealing surfaces can be damaged otherwise.

Check engine oil level and correct if necessary.
