Measuring, adjusting

Drive vehicle onto test site and secure by applying parking brake

The measuring system must be approved by Mercedes-Benz.

 Do not carry out a chassis alignment when the engine is hot as the heat of the engine radiated onto the air suspension struts may affect the level of the vehicle.

Raise the vehicle level and lower it again using the switch on the center console

 Raise - the indicator lamp is on

Lower - the indicator lamp is off

Raising and lowering the vehicle reduces play in the suspension.

Deactivate easy entry/exit

 Otherwise the driver seat and steering wheel move into a different position if the driver door is opened or closed for example. The seat may be damaged if the  brake pedal winch is installed.

Using the adapter, install the brake pedal retaining tool between the pedal and the driver's seat

 Protect the brake pedal and driver seat from damage.

Move selector lever to position "P"

Open the window, exit the vehicle and close the door

 Preparations for checking steering lock. The vehicle must not be loaded again.

Switch off ignition

Attach rapid-clamping devices

Fit on measuring heads

Unlock turnplates and sliding platforms

Perform initial measurement

Check vehicle level at front and rear axle with electronic inclination meter and adjust, if necessary

Check and adjust toe on rear axle

According to results of initial measurement.

Checking rear axle camber

Check and adjust camber and caster at front axle

Remove brake pedal jack tool with its adapter
