Please note that the user interface for the Garmin® MAP PILOT has changed. The new user interface is similar to the COMAND interface. The changeover shall take place gradually as the new SD cards are shipped. It is also possible to install the new user interface through a software update in the Download Manager.

The designation of the navigation software is 37.09 (16/43.01, E70).

Time of change

The change will be available as from the end of February 2017 in the Download Manager. The initial SD card with part number A 213 906 56 04 will also be available as from the middle of February. This will also include the new navigation software.

Preconditions

To enable a change to be made to the new user interface, the software release of the SD card (see label) must match one of the listed software releases.

If the software release is not listed, an alternative is to purchase the latest navigation SD card with the new user interface. The same applies in a retrofitting instance and for the purchase of an initial SD card.

Before the changeover

After making the software update to the new user interface, it is no longer possible to return to the old user interface. We strongly recommend that you make a backup copy before making the software update.

"Help" in the Download Manager contains a detailed description on how to make the backup copy.
The last navigation software version with the latest user interface is 33.30 (16/37.00, E66.2).

Innovations

The following changes have been made:

Harmonization of user interface with COMAND interface.

Option for choosing several route alternatives is no longer available.

Option for choosing other vehicle symbols is no longer available.

Several menus have been restructured

It should be noted that the new version does not provide an improvement in performance.
