Set seat backrest to vertical position

Disconnect electrical connection (2)

Remove electrical wiring harness of electrical connector (8) from seat cushion frame (13)

Push back catch hooks (arrows A) using two suitable screwdrivers (6) and unclip coupling for seat belt buckle restraint system switch electrical connector (4) from coupling housing (5)

When removing seat cushion padding (1) on front passenger seat.

Disconnect all electrical connectors that belong to the seat cushion padding (1) and the seat cushion cover (10) on the underside of the seat cushion (14)

 The number of electrical lines varies depending on the equipment installed.

Expose all electrical lines that belong to the seat cushion padding (1) and the seat cushion cover (10) on the underside of the seat cushion (14)

 Installation:
Route electrical lines so that the front seat can be adjusted without any restriction.
Otherwise shearing off or crushing of the electrical lines may occur.

 The number of electrical lines varies depending on the equipment installed.

Unhook terminal strip (12) from seat cushion cover (10)

Detach edge stripping (arrows C) of seat cushion cover (10) from seat cushion frame (13)

 Installation: Ensure that seat cushion cover (10) is correctly seated in seat cushion frame (13).

Remove seat cushion (14) from seat cushion frame (13)

Detach seat cushion cover (10) at seat cushion padding (1) and turn upside down

 Model 447, 448 with code H15 (Seat heater for front passenger) or with code H16 (Seat heater for driver), except code SK5 (Automatic front passenger airbag shutoff)
Installation: Ensure correct assembly position of electrical line for seat heater and tensioning strap (11).

Remove seat cushion cover (10) from seat cushion padding (1)

 Model 447, 448 with code H15 (Seat heater for front passenger) or with code H16 (Seat heater for driver), except code SK5 (Automatic front passenger airbag shutoff)
Installation: The seat heater mat (15) is bonded to the seat cushion padding (1). When replacing the seat cushion padding (1) or the seat heater mat (15), both parts must be replaced.

 Installation: Ensure that seat cushion cover (10) is correctly seated.

Remove driver seat cushion seat ventilation motors (M18/9) or front passenger seat cushion seat ventilation motors (M18/11) from seat cushion padding (1)

Model 447, 448.8 with code SE0 (Seat climate control for driver) or with code SE1 (Seat climate control for front passenger), except code SK5 (Automatic front passenger airbag shutoff)
When replacing seat cushion padding (1).

Remove seat occupied recognition for front passenger seat (B48/5) from seat cushion padding (1)

When replacing seat cushion padding (1) on front passenger seat.
