No fires, sparks, open flames or smoking. Pour fuels into suitable and appropriately marked containers only.

Preconditions/notes regarding checking the delivery rate of the fuel metering pump

Check

1

Remove, clean and reinstall fuel strainer in intake connection of fuel metering pump (1)

Remove fuel line (2) from thrust side of fuel metering pump (1)

 If two fuel metering pumps (1) are installed, determine fuel metering pump (1) to be checked using fuel lines (2).

 Collect escaping fuel.
Close off fuel line (2) with suitable  stop plugs.

Connect measuring hose (3) to thrust side of fuel metering pump (1) and insert end of measuring hose (3) into a measuring cup (4)

Connect multimeter (6) for monitoring the battery voltage to the battery (5)

 To measure the delivery rate, a battery voltage of 11 V to 13 V must be applied.

Switch heater unit on

 Fuel delivery begins after approx. 40 s.
In order to ventilate the measuring hose (3), operate the heater until the fuel emerges evenly and bubble-free at the measuring hose (3).

Switch heater unit off

Empty measuring cup (4) and insert end of measuring hose (3) back into measuring cup (4)

Switch heater unit on

 Fuel delivery begins after approx. 40 s.
Hold measuring cup (4) at height of heater during measurement.

Wait for fuel delivery to stop

 The auxiliary heater control unit stops delivering fuel after approx. 90 s.

Switch heater unit off

Determine delivery quantity in measuring cup (4) and compare to specified values

Fuel delivery quantity in 90 s

If the specified values are not reached:



Replace fuel metering pump (1).

Disconnect multimeter (6) from battery (5)

Detach measuring hose (3) from fuel metering pump (1) and reattach fuel line (2)

 Collect escaping fuel.
