Remove/install

Danger!

Risk of explosion caused by welding or soldering work on closed air conditioning system. Risk of poisoning caused by inhaling overheated refrigerant vapors. Risk of injury to skin and eyes caused by contact with liquid refrigerant.

Never perform welding work on or near a closed air conditioning system. No smoking or open flames. Wear safety glasses and protective gloves. Work only in well ventilated areas. Carry out repair work on the air conditioning system circuit only after the system has been drained.

In the event of air conditioning malfunctions due to leaks, contamination or ice formation, a new accumulator (1) is generally to be installed when repairing or exchanging the refrigerant compressor

1

Drain air conditioning (recycle), evacuate, charge, check for leakage

When filling the air conditioning system, feed extracted quantity of compressor oil back into the refrigerant circuit.

3

Remove refrigerant pressure sensor (B12) at accumulator (1)

AR83.30-P-5430C

4

Release and disconnect connector (5) at refrigerant temperature sensor (B12/1)

5

Remove refrigerant temperature sensor (B12/1) at accumulator (1)

Installation: Replace sealing rings and moisten with compressor oil

*BA83.30-P-1008-01A

6

Remove pressure lines (2, 3) at accumulator (1)

Installation: When connecting the pressure lines, moisten thread with compressor oil

*BA83.30-P-1003-01A

7

Install in the reverse order

When replacing the receiver/drier add the prescribed amount of refrigeration oil.

*BF83.55-P-1005-01A

8

Switch on the air conditioner and allow the engine to idle for roughly 4 minutes.

Set temperature to ""

Blowers to max.

9

Check air conditioning for proper operation

The air outlet temperature at the center air vent may not sink below + 5 0C, or

perform diagnosis according to diagnosis manual

10

Inspect the air conditioning circuit for leaks
