3 | Remove coolant hoses (4) from fittings (3) | Collect escaping coolant with a suitable container and seal openings of fittings (3) with suitable plugs. | |
4 | Detach cable tie from bolt (2) and remove nut (1) underneath | ||
5 | Remove cross member under instrument panel | ||
6 | Unfasten electrical wiring harnesses (5) from retaining clips in firewall area | ||
7 | Remove defroster outlet (9) | ||
8 | Unplug connector from blower motor (6) | ||
9 | Unplug connector (8) from blower motor series resistor group | ||
10.1 | Disconnect wiring harness from PTC heater booster | Only for engine 639.9 | |
11 | Unplug connector (20) from heater housing (7) | ||
12 | Remove retaining clips of electrical wiring harnesses on heater housing (7) and fresh air box (10) | ||
13 | Remove heater housing (7) and fresh air box (10) from firewall | ||
14 | Pull fresh air box (10) out of heater housing (7) | ||
15 | Remove heater housing (7) | ||
16.1 | Unclip heater valve Bowden cable (19) from the retaining clamp (21), unlock lever locking mechanism (22) and remove eyelet (23) of heater valve Bowden cable (19) | Only when installing new heater housing (7). | |
Do not damage the locking mechanism on lever (22), otherwise it will no longer be possible to lock the heater valve Bowden cable (19). | |||
17.1 | Unclip defroster flap air distribution Bowden cable (15) from retaining clamp (14), unlock locking mechanism (13) at lever (11) and remove defroster flap air distribution Bowden cable (15) | Only when installing new heater housing (7). | |
Installation: Push lever (11) back to rear stop and lock defroster flap air distribution Bowden cable (15) in retaining clamp (14). | |||
Do not damage locking mechanism (13) on lever (11), otherwise it will no longer be possible to lock the defroster flap air distribution Bowden cable (15). | |||
18.1 | Unclip footwell flap air distribution Bowden cable (17) from retaining clamp (16), unlock locking mechanism (18) on the lever (12) and remove footwell flap air distribution Bowden cable (17) | Only when installing new heater housing (7). | |
Installation: Push lever (12) back to rear stop and lock footwell flap air distribution Bowden cable (17) in retaining clamp (16). | |||
Do not damage the locking mechanism (18) on lever (12), otherwise it will no longer be possible to lock the footwell flap air distribution Bowden cable (17). | |||
19.1 | Remove blower motor | Only when installing new heater housing (7). | |
20.1 | Remove PTC heater booster | Only when installing new heater housing (7) with engine 639.9. | |
21 | Install in the reverse order |
