Danger | Risk of death caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform. | Align vehicle between vehicle lift columns and position the four support plates at the vehicle lift support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer. | |
1 | Lift vehicle with lifting platform. | ||
2 | Turn front wheels and remove fender liner maintenance flap (2). | ||
3.1 | Detach front bumper (3) in area of left lamp unit (E1) or right lamp unit (E2). | When removing a lamp unit. | |
3.2 | Remove front bumper (3). | When removing both lamp units. | |
4 | Lower vehicle. | ||
5 | Remove screws (4) and screw (5) from left front lamp unit (E1) or from right front lamp unit (E2). | ||
6 | Pull released front bumper (3) toward front. | When removing a lamp unit. | |
7 | Remove left front lamp unit (E1) or right front lamp unit (E2) far enough until electrical connector (1) is accessible. | ||
8 | Release and disconnect electrical connector (1) from left front lamp unit (E1) or from right front lamp unit (E2) and remove left front lamp unit (E1) or right front lamp unit (E2). | ||
9 | Remove control unit on underside of left front lamp unit (E1) or right front lamp unit (E2). | When replacing the left front lamp unit (E1) or the right front lamp unit (E2). | |
10 | Install in the reverse order. | ||
11 | Check headlamp adjustment. | ||
