Remove/install

Fully lower front door side window (1).

Switch off ignition and store transmitter key outside of transmission range (min. 2  m).

Mask off fender (2) and front door (1) in area of hatched area with fabric tape.

Disconnect electrical connector of driver's door (X35/1) or electrical connector of front passenger door (X35/2).

Remove cover of grub screw (5).

Unscrew grub screws (5, 6) of hinges (3, 4) by 3 turns.

 Installation:
Repair paint damage in area of grub screws (5, 6).

Remove front door (1) from lower hinge leaves and set down on a suitable base.


Carefully handle front door (1).
Otherwise paint damage can occur.

 Helper required.

 Installation: The exterior contour of the hinge bolt (4.1) should be flush with the inside contour of the bolt mount (4.2).

Install in the reverse order.



Check

Check gap dimensions of front door (1), adjust if necessary.

Normalize window lifter of front door (1).

Check adjustment of front door side window (1), adjust if necessary.
