Remove inner glass cover of (2) panoramic roof

Remove left and right rear grab handle (3) on roof

Remove left rear reading lamp (E111) and right rear reading lamp (E112)

Remove center rear dome lamp (E15/1)

Completely remove edge guard (4) from both rear door cutouts

Remove left and right paneling from B-pillar

Lift front roof lining (6) slightly in the area of the screw (7) and remove screw (7) from both B-pillars


Lift front roof lining (6) carefully,
otherwise, the front roof lining (6) may be damaged.

Remove left and right air duct (8) from B-pillar air distributor and disconnect electrical connector (9)

Expose left and right electrical wiring harness (10) and place in the rear compartment

Pull left and right rear roof lining (1) downward slightly in the area of the air vent (11), push air duct (12) toward the front, and disconnect from the air vent (11)


Pull rear roof lining (1) carefully toward the bottom,
otherwise the rear roof lining (1) may become damaged.

Remove screw (13) and unhook and remove retaining clamp (14) from the dome lamp retaining frame (15)


Carefully unhook retaining clamp (14),
otherwise, the dome lamp retaining frame (15) may bend.

 Danger

Risk of explosion from explosive gas. Risk of poisoning and caustic burns from swallowing battery electrolyte. Risk of injury through burns to skin and eyes from battery acid or when handling damaged lead-acid batteries

No fires, sparks, open flames or smoking. Wear acid-resistant gloves, clothing and glasses. Only pour battery acid into suitable and appropriately marked containers.

Attach ground line to the on-board electrical system battery

Remove left and right trim from the C-pillar

Pull rear roof lining (1) forward out of the top curtain rail (5)


Carefully pull rear roof lining (1) toward the front,
otherwise, the rear roof lining (1) may impact the roof crossbeam and become damaged as a result.

 Aid of helper required.

Remove rear roof lining (1) from the vehicle and place on a suitable stowage box/tray

 Aid of helper required.

Install in the reverse order
