Check adjustment of rear-end door, correct if necessary

Remove inner sealing frame (2) from left and right rear window (1)

 Warning

Risk of injury caused by slipping when inserting blade in the multicutter and byglass splinters when cutting out bonded windows

Always interrupt air supply or power supply before inserting or removing blade.
Wear protective gloves and safety glasses

Cut adhesive bead in cutting area (A) from inside with multicutter and cutting blade


Observe cutting depth and cut carefully.
Otherwise the paint on the hinges (3) can be damaged.

Fasten two cup suction tools on outer rear window (1)

 Warning

Risk of injury from cutting wire tearing or becoming hot and from splinters of glass when cutting out bonded windows

Wear protective gloves and safety glasses.

Cut out rear window (1) with Roll out and remove

Vacuum off glass splinters and contamination



Install

Prepare rear door window cutout for installation

 Ensure that not more than 1 mm of adhesive bead remains. Pull off loose adhesive material (remaining pieces which are not completely cut off).
Repair paint damage on window cutout not covered by glue with primer.
Use only primer filler and paints approved by Daimler AG:

Prepare rear window (1) for installation

Open sliding door


Sliding door must be open.
This prevents the rear window (1) from being pressed outwards by the air pressure when the rear-end door is closed.

Install rear window (1)

Observe dimensions of adhesive bead and guide triangular nozzle of cartridge gun at right angle to rear window (1).
Otherwise the adhesive can be pressed out of the window edge when installing or leaktightness and strength are not ensured.


After applying the adhesive, install the rear window (1) within 10 minutes.
Otherwise the adhesive force of the glue starts to decrease.

 Observe curing time of adhesive according to manufacturers specifications.

Install inner sealing frame (2) on rear window (1)

Remove adhesive strips for fastening rear window (1) after the adhesive has cured

 Observe curing time of adhesive according to manufacturers specifications.

Clean rear window (1) and vehicle interior in repair area
