Removing and installing fuse and relay box

Removal, installation

Disconnect ground lead from battery

Remove cover (1) on fuse and relay box (F1)

Unclip cover (3)

Unclip fuse blocks (A-D)

 Pry carrier (4) for fuse blocks and relays out as far as possible and unclip fuse blocks (A-D) from carrier.

Remove closing confirmation relay (K54) from carrier (4) together with holder

Disconnect leads from fuse boxes and fuse blocks

  Disconnect leads only when replacing entire fuse and relay box. Tie disconnected leads from individual fuse boxes or blocks together and mark to prevent mix-up.

Assignment and wire connections to fuse blocks

Disconnect connectors

Separate continuous leads at connectors or on component

Remove cycle module (5)

Remove pedal covering

Unhook control cable for unlocking engine compartment in passenger compartment and tie back

 Do not kink

Unscrew nuts (2)

From inside of vehicle

Remove fuse and relay box (F1)

 Check gasket (6) for damage and replace, if necessary

Reinstall in opposite order
