Remove/install

Remove trim of right cylinder head cover.

Remove heat shield (1).

 To do this, remove screws (2).

 Bolt, heat shield to bracket

 Bolt, heat shield to exhaust collector pipe

*BA09.40-N-1010-02TSV

Remove lambda sensor (3).

Remove temperature sensor (4) from the exhaust pipe (7).

 Do not disconnect electrical connector.

Remove bolts (5).

 Bolt, exhaust pipe to turbocharger

Open clamp (6).

 Clamp, diesel particulate filter to exhaust pipe

*BA49.20-N-1007-02TSR

Remove exhaust pipe (7).

 Installation: Replace seals.

Install in the reverse order.



Check

 Warning

Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running.

Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.

Check for leaktightness when engine is running.

 Visual inspection only.
