 Warning

Wear protective clothing and safety glasses. Use the extraction system. Move people out of the hazard area.

Remove/install

Remove air intake pipe.

Expose electrical wiring harness (1).

 To do so, cut through the cable ties.

 Installation: Replace cable tie.

Disconnect electrical connection (2).

Remove exhaust gas temperature sensor (3).

Note on calculation of tightening torque when using insertion or socket tools with various effective lengths

 Installation: Coat thread of exhaust gas temperature sensor (3) with heat-resistant lubricating paste.

Install in the reverse order.

Read out fault memory.

If exhaust gas temperature sensor (3) was replaced.



Connect/disconnect diagnostic unit

If existing faults are shown:



Erase the fault memory.



Check

 Warning

Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running.

Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.

Check for leaktightness when engine is running.
