Suction steering gear oil out of reservoir (2) of power steering pump (1) with hand pump (10)

Detach high pressure flexible hose (3) at power steering pump (1)

Installation: Replace seal (4).

Remove return line (5) from reservoir (2)

Installation: Check condition of hose clamp (9) and install new clamp if necessary.

Remove power steering pump (1) from timing case cover

Convert belt pulley (7) on power steering pump (1)

Only if the power steering pump (1) is to be replaced.

Install in the reverse order

Danger!

Risk of accident caused by vehicle starting off by itself when engine is running. Risk of injury caused by contusions and burns when working in engine during starting procedure

Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving.
Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes.
Do not grasp hot or rotating parts.

Fill and bleed steering system

Turn steering several times to full left and full right lock (self-bleeding).
