Vehicles complaints due to drive line vibrations or irregular acceleration, may result from a deviation in the propeller shaft articulation angle from the specified value.

Driveshaft bend angles that are outside the specified tolerance range can lead to reports of drivetrain vibration and rough response to acceleration



The vehicle must be on its wheels for the measurement.

Drive the vehicle onto a suitable pit or measuring lifting platform and secure with the parking brake

Detach engine compartment paneling under the transmission

Remove bottom sections of soundproofing capsule

Prepare electronic propeller shaft inclinometer

Check propeller shaft inclinometer and adjust if necessary

 to check and adjust, see equipment operator's manual.

Measure absolute angle at transmission

Measure absolute angle at front and rear propeller shafts

Measure absolute angle at rear axle housing

Read out all inclination angles from the memory of the electronic propeller shaft inclinometer and correct on the vehicle if necessary

 Carry out a check measurement again each time the inclination angle is corrected.
