Remove

Lift vehicle with vehicle lift.

Remove corresponding rear axle shaft.

Remove radial shaft sealing ring (1) from coupling housing (2) or coupling housing (3).


Do not damage mounting hole of radial shaft sealing ring (1).
Otherwise leaks may occur.

 Removal and installation tool

Clean seat of radial shaft sealing ring (1).

Assembly cleaner

Check seat of radial shaft sealing ring(1) for damage.

If damage is visible,



Replace the rear axle differential.

Install

Press in radial shaft sealing ring (1) using punch-in drift (01) until the punch-in drift (01) makes contact with the coupling housing (2) or coupling housing (3).

 Replace radial shaft sealing ring (1).

Moisten sealing lip of radial shaft sealing ring (1) with transmission oil.



Install corresponding rear axle shaft.

Check

Check and correct transmission oil level of coupling housing (2) or coupling housing (3).



Ensure that jack stands are in a safe condition. An authorized person must occupy the driver's seat. Wear closed and close-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.

Perform engine test run and check coupling housing (2) or coupling housing (3) for leak tightness.
