Remove

1

Remove differential (10).

Ensure cleanliness at all times when working on the differential (10).
If not observed, even minute dirt particles can prevent the differential (10) from functioning correctly.

Remove radial shaft sealing ring (9).

Remove radial shaft sealing ring at drive pinion.

Loosen screws (1 to 8) uniformly in reverse numerical sequence.

Remove screws(1 to 8).

Loosen side cap (17) using a suitable tool.

Remove side cap (17).

Loosen screws (11 to 15) uniformly in reverse numerical sequence.

Remove screws (11 to 15).

Loosen clutch cover (16) using a suitable tool.

Remove clutch cover (16).



Clean

Clean sealing surfaces on side cap (17), clutch cover (16) and differential (10).

 The sealing surfaces must be free of dust and grease.

Assembly cleaner

Check

Check sealing surfaces on side cap (17), clutch cover (16) and differential (10) for damage.

If damage is found,



replace differential (10) with side cap (17) and with clutch cover (16).



Install

Apply sealant to sealing surface of differential (10).



Rear axle differential sealant path

 Do not spread the sealant bead.
Use only the approved sealant.

Place side cap (17) on differential (10).

Tighten screws (1 to 8) lightly by hand.

 Replace screws (1 to 8).

Tighten screws (1 to 8) in numerical sequence.

Place clutch cover (16) onto differential (10).

Tighten screws (11 to 15) lightly by hand.

 Replace screws (11 to 15).

Tighten screws (11 to 15) in numerical sequence.

Install radial shaft sealing ring at drive pinion.

 Replace radial shaft sealing ring on drive pinion.

Install radial shaft sealing ring (9).

 Fit a new radial shaft sealing ring (9).

Install differential (10).
