Remove/install

Remove voltage of high-voltage on-board electrical system.

Raise vehicle and fix in place on vehicle lift.

Drain pressure of air suspension at rear axle using vehicle diagnosis system.



Switch off ignition and store transmitter key outside of transmitter range (min. 2 m).

Remove rear wheels.

Remove underfloor paneling.

Remove fender liner from fenders at rear.

Unclip electrical wiring harnesses (15) from holders of rear level sensors (B22/7, B22/10).

Disconnect electrical connectors (14) from rear level sensors (B22/7, B22/10) and place electrical wiring harness (15) to one side.

Disconnect electrical connectors (12) on both sides and expose electric lines at holder (13).

Remove nuts (1) and detach holder (2).

Release and disconnect high-voltage plug (3) from high-voltage battery and seal connections with protective covers.

Ensure the utmost care and cleanliness.
Otherwise the high-voltage components can be damaged.

Seal coolant hoses (4, 5) with clamping devices.

Disconnect coolant hoses (4, 5) from connections (6) and collect escaping coolant in a suitable container.

Remove bolts_(7).

Support rear axle using an assembly mount and mounting plate.



Unscrew screws (8) and remove stop plates (9).

 Do not use an impact wrench.

 Installation: Clean thread in frame floor assembly using compressed air only, and check or correct seating of threaded inserts.

Lower front of rear axle far enough until nuts of camber strut (11) can be removed.

Unclip holders for level sensor linkages of rear level sensors (B22/7, B22/10) and place to one side.

 Observe installation positions and do not twist rear level sensors (B22/7, B22/10).

Remove camber strut (11) from wheel carrier (16).

Detach camber strut (11) from rear axle carrier (10) and remove.

Check

Check that camber strut (11) is in good condition and not damaged.

In the event of a problem,



replace camber strut (11).

Install in the reverse order.

Pour coolant into main circuit.
