Remove/install

Put transmission into neutral position.

Release parking brake.

Remove lower center engine compartment lining.

 Installation: Install bottom center engine compartment lining only after the leak test.

Drain oil from front axle differential(1).

Remove front axle shafts (2).

Remove propeller shaft (3) from flange (3f) and secure against falling down.

Support front axle differential (1) and secure to prevent it from falling.



Unscrew threaded connections (4).

 Bolt, front axle transmission to front axle carrier

Remove bleed line (5) from front axle differential (1).

Remove front axle differential(1).

Install in the reverse order.

 Warning

Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running.

Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.

Perform engine test run and check front axle differential (1) for proper operation and leak tightness.

Install bottom center engine compartment lining.
