Set steering gear to center position.

Unfasten collar nuts for front axle shafts

Remove air filter housing.

Remove trim (1).

 To do so, remove the expansion rivets (2).

 Installation: Check expansion rivet (2) for damage.

Depending on the findings,

Replace damaged expansion rivet (2).

Secure the radiator package at the upper attachment points on both sides.

Remove the expansion rivets (3).

 Installation: Check expansion rivets (3) for damage.

Remove the trim (4) on the bumper.

 To do this unlock latchings (arrows) with suitable tool.

Disconnect the electrical connection (5) for the alarm sirens with additional battery (H3/1).

Remove the ball heads from the steering knuckles.

Remove the torsion bar linkage on both suspension struts.

Remove both transverse control arms.

Disconnect electrical connectors (8).

Remove the electrical wiring harness for NOx sensor 1 upstream of the SCR catalytic converter (B29) from the integral carrier (9).

Refit the engine stabilizer mount (9).

Refit the crash boxes.
