Remove/install

Deactivate easy entry and exit feature for steering wheel.

Turn rack-and-pinion steering to center position (front wheels in straight-ahead position) and fix steering wheel in place with holding device.


Do not twist steering wheel when the steering coupling was removed.
Non-observance will result in damage to clock spring contact.

Remove air filter housing.

Release, disconnect electrical connectors (3) and expose electric lines (4).

Remove front axle differential.

Remove steering coupling from steering shaft.

Lift engine with engine support fixture.


Raise engine carefully.
Damage may otherwise occur to lines and hoses.

Detach left and right switchable engine mounts (Y123, Y123/1) and remove in upward direction.

 Observe environmental protection regulations for disposal of left and right switchable engine mounts (Y123, Y123/1). Dispose of left and right switchable engine mounts (Y123, Y123/1) in mixed scrap.

 Always replace left and right switchable engine mounts (Y123, Y123/1) in pairs.

Install in the reverse order.
