 Warning

Risk of injury to skin and eyes suffering scalding from contact with hot coolantspray. Risk of poisoning from swallowing coolant.

Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90 °C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers.
Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.

Remove/install

Remove cap (5) at coolant expansion reservoir (1).

 Initially only unscrew cap (5) counterclockwise as far as first detent and release overpressure. Then remove cap (5).

Suction off coolant from coolant expansion reservoir (1).

Remove bleed line (4) from coolant expansion reservoir (1).

 Installation: Check bleed line (4) for damage.

If damage is present:



Replace bleed line (4).

Remove coolant hose connection fitting (3) from coolant expansion reservoir (1).

 Installation: Check coolant hose connection fitting (3) for damage.

If damage is present,



Replace coolant hose connection fitting (3).

Disconnect electrical connection (2).

Unclip coolant expansion reservoir (1) at carrier (6) (arrows) and remove in upward direction.

Install in the reverse order.



Check

8

Check engine cooling system for leak tightness.
