| Remove/Install | ||
1 | Drain coolant | ||
2 | Detach coolant hoses at coolant temperature controller (1) | Collect coolant which flows out in a suitable vessel. | |
3 | Unscrew bolts (2) | | |
4 | Remove the coolant thermostat (1) from crankcase (3) | Installation: do not push coolant temperature controller (1) too far into the crankcase (3), otherwise the coolant temperature controller (1) can jam in the crankcase (3) and damage can occur to the seal when the coolant temperature controller (1) is prised out. | |
Installation: Install new sealing ring. | |||
5 | Install in the reverse order | ||
Danger! | Risk of accident caused by vehicle starting off by itself when engine is running. Risk of injury caused by contusions and burns when working in engine during starting procedure | Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving. | |
6 | Conduct engine test run and check cooling system in the area of the coolant temperature controller (1) for leaks | Until the cooling fan is switched on. |
