Danger!

Risk of injury to skin and eyes caused by scalding from contact with hot coolant spray. Risk of poisoning caused by swallowing coolant.

Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90°C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers.

Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.

Drain coolant

 At radiator and crankcase.

Loosen coolant pump belt pulley bolts (5)

 Place a counterholder on the coolant pump belt pulley (5).

Remove poly-V belt

 Check poly-V belt, belt pulley profile and clamping device for damage and soiling; replace if necessary.

Take off belt pulley of coolant pump (5)

Position piston for cylinder 1 at top dead center

 Rotate engine at crankshaft.

 Do not rotate engine backwards.

Unscrew TDC sensor bracket (17)

 Removal: Mark installation position of the TDC sensor bracket (17) relative to the timing case cover using a scriber.

 Installation: Install TDC sensor (17) in such a way that it matches the installation marking,  if necessary

Check setting of TDC sensor bracket (17), correct

Remove coolant pump (6) on coolant pump housing (11)

 Installation: Clean sealing surfaces.

Install new gasket (10).

Pay attention to dowel pins (9)



Install in the reverse order

Fill cooling system
