1 | Clamp off ground line of on-board electrical system battery (G1). | ||
2 | Remove charge air hose downstream of charge air cooler. | Model 447 with engine 622.9 | |
3 | Remove charge air hose upstream of charge air cooler on charge air cooler. | Model 447 with engine 622.9 | |
4.1 | Detach cable (1) at hood catch and place to one side. | Model 447 with engine 622.9 | |
4.2 | Detach air intake pipe at cooling module. | Model 447 with engine 622.8 | |
5 | Remove bolts (3) and remove front end crossmember (2) at top at front module crossmember. | Front end crossmember (2) remains on vehicle. | |
6.1 | Remove crossmember below bumper together with lock carrier (2). | Model 447 with engine 622.9 | |
6.2 | Remove cooling module and swivel cooling module out of working area. | Model 447 with engine 622.8 | |

7 | Remove poly-V-belt from alternator (G2). | ||
8 | Release and disconnect electrical connector (4). | ||
9 | Remove cap of nut (5). | ||
10 | Remove nut (5). | Nut, positive line to alternator | |
11 | Release and disconnect electrical connector(7). | Model 447 with engine 622.9 | |
12 | Unlock upper locks of radiator package (8). | ||
13 | Detach radiator package (8) at right and swivel forwards. | | |
Two helpers required. | |||
14 | Remove screws (6) of alternator (G2). | The screw/bolts (6) cannot be removed completely. | |
Bolt, alternator to major assembly carrier | |||
15 | Press back pilot bushings of alternator (G2) and remove alternator (G2) between radiator package (8) and front module crossmember. | ||
16 | Install in the reverse order. | ||
