Remove/install

Switch off ignition and store transmitter key outside of transmitter range (min. 2 m).

Remove upper engine cover.

Unclip bleed line (2) from the bracket (3).

Unclip rear engine cover at the top.

Remove cable duct (1) and place to one side somewhat with connected lines.

Release and disconnect electrical connectors of the ignition coils (T1/1, T1/2, T1/3, T1/4).

Remove ignition system heat shield from cylinder head.

Remove screws/bolts (4).

Remove ignition coils (T1/1, T1/2, T1/3, T1/4).

 Installation:
To reduce the force required for connection and disconnection, apply spark plug connector grease in the spark plug connector before installation.
Otherwise damage will occur.

 Installation: Discharge approx. Fill 1 g of spark plug connector grease into the spark plug connector.

Check

Check ignition coils (T1/1, T1/2, T1/3, T1/4) for external damage.

If damage is present,



replace damaged ignition coil (T1/1, T1/2, T1/3, T1/4).

Install in the reverse order

Connect vehicle diagnosis system, read out fault memory and clear if necessary.


