Remove/install

Switch off ignition and store transmitter key outside of transmitter range (min. 2 m).

Remove air filter housing.

Remove cover of cylinder head cover.

Unscrew screw/bolts (1).

 Bolt, ignition coil to cylinder head cover

Remove cylinder 1 ignition coil (T1/11), cylinder 2 ignition coil (T1/12), cylinder 3 ignition coil (T1/13) and cylinder 4 ignition coil (T1/14) upwards.

 The respective ignition coil and respective spark plug connectors (3) create a unit and can therefore only be removed and replaced together.

Release and disconnect electrical connectors (2).

Remove cylinder 1 ignition coil (T1/11), cylinder 2 ignition coil (T1/12), cylinder 3 ignition coil (T1/13) and cylinder 4 ignition coil (T1/14).



Check

Check cylinder 1 ignition coil (T1/11), cylinder 2 ignition coil (T1/12), cylinder 3 ignition coil (T1/13), cylinder 4 ignition coil (T1/14) and associated spark plug connectors (3) for damage.

If damage is visible:



Replace defective ignition coil with spark plug connector.

Install in the reverse order.

Connect vehicle diagnosis system and read out fault memory.


