Risk of death caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform.

Align vehicle between vehicle lift columns and position the four support plates at the vehicle lift support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer.

Remove/install

Remove NOx sensor 1 upstream of SCR catalytic converter (B29) from diesel particulate filter (8)

 To do this unscrew union nut (1). Do not disconnect electrical connection.

 Installation: Apply heat-resistant lubricant to the thread of union nut (1).

Remove clamp (2)

Remove temperature sensor upstream of diesel particulate filter (B19/17) out of diesel particulate filter (8)

 To do this unscrew union nut (3). Do not disconnect electrical connector.

 Installation: Apply heat-resistant lubricant to the thread of union nut (3).

Remove pressure hoses (4)

 Mark assignment of the pressure hoses (4).

 Installation: Check pressure hoses (4) and clamps (5) for damage and replace for the respective findings.

Loosen clamps (6)

 The clamps (6) must be movable.

Remove diesel particulate filter (8)

 Installation:
Install diesel particulate filter (8) without tensions.
Tensions can lead to damage and leaks on the exhaust system.

 To do this pull diesel particulate filter (8) out if the suspension rubber (7).

 Installation: Replace suspension rubber (7).

Install in the reverse order



Check

 Danger !

Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running.

Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.
