 Warning

Risk of injury to skin and eyes suffering scalding from contact with hot coolantspray. Risk of poisoning from swallowing coolant.

Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90 °C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers.
Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.

Remove

Remove exhaust gas recirculation.

Clamp the exhaust gas recirculation into the vise.

 Use protective jaws.

Remove the coolant hose (2) from the housing (3).

 Hose clamp pliers

Remove the housing (3).

 To do so, remove the screws/bolts (4, 5).

 Set of flexible head wrenches

Remove seal (6).

 Dispose of seal (6).

Change exhaust gas recirculation valve.

If the housing (3) is replaced.

Clean

Clean sealing surfaces on exhaust gas recirculation cooler (1).

Assembly cleaner

Clean sealing surface on the housing (3).

If the housing (3) is reused.

Install

Insert screws (4) into the exhaust gas recirculation cooler (1).

Install new seal (6) on the exhaust gas recirculation cooler (1).

 Thread the seal (6) over screws (4).

Attach the housing (3) to the exhaust gas recirculation cooler (1).

 To do this, screw in screws (4, 5) loosely by hand. Then tighten the screws (4, 5) with the torque according to alphabetical tightening order.

 Bolt, exhaust gas recirculation cooler to housing of exhaust gas recirculation valve

Attach coolant hose (2) to the housing (3).

 Check clamp.

 Hose clamp pliers

Depending on the findings,



Replace clamp.

Remove exhaust gas recirculation from vise.

Install exhaust gas recirculation.
