Removing

Open engine hood

Loosen nut (1) on alternator

 Do not remove poly-V belt (4) when engine is hot

Loosen bolt (2) on alternator

4

Detach lower engine compartment paneling

Loosen nut (3) on alternator

Remove poly-V belt (4)



Install

Check poly-V belt (4) for damage and wear; replace if necessary



Check poly-V belt for wear and damage

Fit on poly-V belt (4)

Lower vehicle

Tighten poly-V belt (4) by twisting the bolt (2) and check tension using gauge (V-belt tension) (5)

 Only use gauge (V-belt tension) (5) on area shown.

Reference value for first assembly of poly-V belt (4): approx. 784 N to 980 N.

Reference value for reassembly of poly-V belt (4): approx. 441 N to 539 N.



Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving by itself.
Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes.
Do not touch hot or rotating parts.

Carry out engine test run

Raise vehicle

Check tension of poly-V belt (4)

 Only use gauge (V-belt tension) (5) on area shown.

Reference value for first assembly of poly-V belt (4): approx. 784 N to 980 N.

Reference value for reassembly of poly-V belt (4): approx. 441 N to 539 N. Retension limit: 392 N to 588 N.


