Risk of death caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform.

Align vehicle between vehicle lift columns and position the four support plates at the vehicle lift support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer.

Remove/install

Raise vehicle.

Remove lower engine compartment paneling.

If installed.

 Installation: Attach bottom engine compartment lining only after leak test.

Remove charge air hose downstream of charge air cooler.

Disconnect electrical connection (2).

 The electrical connector (2) simultaneously secures the snap-in brackets of the charge air temperature sensor (1).

Remove charge air temperature sensor (1).


Do not disengage or engage the charge air temperature sensor (1) with the electrical connector (2) attached.
The snap-in bracket may be overstretched otherwise.

 Installation: Check sealing ring (3) for damage.

If corresponding findings are present,



Replace sealing ring (3).

If the snap-in brackets of the charge air temperature sensor (1) are defective,



Install new charge air temperature sensor (1).

Install in the reverse order.



Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running.

Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.

Check for leaktightness when engine is running.
