| Remove/install | ||
1 | Disconnect ground line from battery.
2 | Remove upper engine cover.
| |||
Installation: Only install upper engine cover after the leak test.
3 | Remove cable duct (4). | Screw, engine cable duct to cylinder head cover/charge-air distributor/oil separator/high-pressure pump shielding
4 | Release and disconnect the electrical connector (2).
5 | Clean rail (3) in the area of the fuel pressure and temperature sensor (B4/25). | Assembly cleaner
6 | Release fuel pressure in the fuel high-pressure circuit.
Use fuel pressure and temperature sensor instead of high-pressure line (B4/25).
7 | Remove fuel pressure and temperature sensor (B4/25) and seal opening with suitable stop plug. | Installation:
Pressure and temperature sensor to fuel distributor
Record plug | |||
8 | Install in the reverse order.
9 | Connect vehicle diagnosis system, read out fault memory, and delete.
| |||
| Check | ||
10 | Check fuel high-pressure circuit for leak tightness.
Warning | Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running. | Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.
11 | Perform engine test run. While doing so, check engine for proper operation and leak tightness. |
