Remove/install

Danger!

Risk of death caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off the lifting platform.

Align vehicle between columns of vehicle lift and position four support plates at vehicle lift support points specified by vehicle manufacturer.

For vehicles with code (474) Diesel particulate filter (close) the catalytic converter diesel particulate filter unit is integrated in the rear muffler (1).

Unhook rear muffler (1) on left retaining rubber (2) and secure with a cable tie on the rear apron holder

On vehicles without code (474) Diesel particulate filter (closed)

Remove cable tie at connector of O2 oxygen sensor upstream of catalytic converter (G3/2x1)

On vehicles with code (474) Diesel particulate filter (closed)

Expose electrical wiring harness (3) for O2 sensor upstream of TWC (G3/2) and disconnect connector for O2 sensor upstream of TWC (G3/2x1)

Unscrew O2 sensor upstream of catalytic converter (G3/2) from rear muffler (1)

Use a suitable 22 mm socket wrench.

Install in the reverse order

Danger!

Risk of accident caused by vehicle starting off by itself when engine is running. Risk of injury caused by contusions and burns during starting procedure or when working near the engine as it is running

Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving by itself.
Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes.
Do not touch hot or rotating parts.
