 Caution

Risk of injury to skin and eyes due to handling of engine oil. Risk of poisoning caused by swallowing engine oil

Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.
Do not fill engine oil into beverage containers.

Remove/install

Check basic position of camshafts.

Remove timing chain (5).

Insert suitable tool in bore (1) and press together spring (2) of the camshaft sprocket (3).


The camshaft sprocket (3) is locked by inserting a suitable tool. It must only be removed and installed in this condition. Lock must not be removed during this time.
Otherwise, the camshaft sprocket (3) may subsequently be damaged when the engine is running.


Use tool of suitable length for locking.
Otherwise, the  adjustment tool cannot be attached.

Install adjustment tool.

 Install only  adjustment tool.

Loosen screw (4).

Remove adjustment tool.

Remove camshaft sprocket (3).

 To do this, remove bolt (4).

 Installation: Replace screw (4). Tighten screw (4) slightly by hand.

Lock removed or new camshaft sprocket (3) with a suitable tool.

If the camshaft sprocket (3) was not locked when removing or replacing the camshaft sprocket (3).


Remove lock only after tightening the screw (4).
Otherwise, the camshaft sprocket (3) may subsequently be damaged when the engine is running.


Use tool of suitable length for locking.
Otherwise, the  adjustment tool cannot be attached.
