1 | Remove trim panel of cylinder head cover | ||
2 | Unplug plug at rail pressure control valve (11), rail pressure sensor (12) and disconnect coolant temperature sensor (13) | ||
3 | Remove heat shield above turbocharger | ||
4 | Separate tie strap of engine wiring harness at bracket of oil dipstick guide tube | ||
5 | Detach cable duct with engine wiring harness (9) at the cylinder head cover (1) unclip at rail and place to the side | Attach cable duct with engine wiring harness (9) to charge air distribution tube. | |
6 | Unplug plug of glow plugs (10) | | |
7 | Unplug plug of camshaft position sensor (8) | ||
8 | Remove injectors (6) | Mark the installation sequence when removing the injectors (6). Otherwise the classification must be entered in the engine control unit with STAR DIAGNOSIS. If the injectors (6) are replaced, these must always be classified. | |
9 | Detach crankcase ventilation hose (5) at engine oil separator | ||
10 | Disconnect drain hose (2) at separation point (arrow) | ||
11 | Detach cylinder head cover (1) | If cylinder head cover (1) is replaced: | |
Modify engine oil separator and camshaft position sensor. | |||
| Install | ||
12 | Fit on cylinder head cover (1) | Do not tighten screws of cylinder head cover (1), because the injectors (6) are aligned through the cylinder head cover (1). Otherwise gas leakages of the injectors (6) can occur in the cylinder head as well as impermissible stresses in the injection lines. Replace gasket (3) and gaskets (4) | |
13 | Install injectors (6) | ||
14 | Tighten bolts of cylinder head cover (1) | | |
15 | Plug in plug of glow plugs (10) | ||
16 | Plug in plug of camshaft position sensor (8) | ||
17 | Attach cable duct with engine wiring harness (9) to cylinder head cover (1) and clip in at rail | ||
18 | Screw down cable duct with engine wiring harness (9) onto cylinder head cover (1) | ||
19 | Plug in plug at rail pressure control valve (11), rail pressure sensor (12) and coolant temperature sensor (13) | ||
20 | Attach engine wiring harness at bracket of oil dipstick guide tube | Replace cable strap. | |
21 | Connect drain hose (2) at separation point (arrow) | ||
22 | Fit crankcase ventilation hose (5) onto engine oil separator | ||

23 | Check for leaks | Run engine until warm, switch off and inspect for leaks. | |
