Danger! | Risk of death caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform. | Align vehicle between the columns of the lifting platform and position the four support plates at the lifting platform support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer. | |
1 | Open engine hood and raise to vertical position | ||
2 | Raise vehicle with lifting platform | ||
3 | Remove lower engine compartment paneling | Installation: Install the engine compartment paneling only after the leaktightness test has taken place. | |
4 | Remove bottom part of oil pan | ||
5 | Push back chain tensioner (5) and detach oil pump chain (3) from oil pump gear (4) | ||
6 | Unscrew bolts (2) of oil pump (1) | | |
7 | Remove oil pump (1) | Installation: Before installing, fill oil pump (1) with engine oil, so that it delivers oil immediately when first started. | |
8 | Clean strainer of oil pump (1) | To do this, unscrew bolts (7) and take off the cover and oil pipe (8) from the oil pump (1). | |

9 | Check oil return shutoff valve (6) for correct position and function. | If the oil return shutoff valve (6) is damaged or a malfunction detected, it must be replaced. | |
10 | Install in the reverse order | ||
11 | Check engine oil level and correct if required. | ||

12 | Conduct engine test run and check the engine for leaks whilst it is running | In the event of oil loss determine and eliminate cause, otherwise malfunctions, transmission damage, and serious environmental pollution may occur. |
