Remove

| Bend up lock tabs (arrows) and unscrew collared nut (1).
|
|
| The vehicle may not be moved on its wheels when the collar nuts (1) are unfastened.
Otherwise the wheel bearings may be damaged.

Install

| Screw on collar nut (1) .
|
|
| Always replace collar nut (1).
Otherwise the collar nut (1) cannot be properly secured.
|
Lock
3
| Press collar (3), as shown, into notches of rear axle shaft (4).
|
|
| There may not be any gap left between the notches and the lock tabs.
|
4
| Paint match marks on the locked collar nut (1) and the rear axle shaft (4).
