Coolant expansion reservoir

 Warning

Risk of injury to skin and eyes suffering scalding from contact with hot coolantspray. Risk of poisoning from swallowing coolant.

Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90 °C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers.
Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.

Check

1

Remove maintenance flap.

Turn the cap (1) on the coolant expansion reservoir (2) counter-clockwise by half a turn, bleed overpressure, and then unscrew the cap (1).

Check coolant level in the coolant expansion reservoir (2).

 The coolant level in the coolant expansion reservoir (2) must be at the upper marking.

If the coolant level is not at the top marking,



Determine the cause or correct the coolant level.



Attach pressure pump with adapter to the coolant expansion reservoir (2).

Check cooling system for leaks.

Pressure drop in filled engine cooling system

If a pressure drop is detected,



Determine the leakage and rectify it.

Remove pressure pump and adapter from coolant expansion reservoir (2).

Check coolant level in the coolant expansion reservoir (2).

 The coolant level in the coolant expansion reservoir (2) must be at the upper marking.

If the coolant level is not at the top marking,



Correct coolant level.



Seal coolant expansion reservoir (2) with cap (1).
