Inspect cooling system for leaks

Removing

 Danger!

Risk of injury to skin and eyes caused by scalding from contact with hot coolant spray. Risk of poisoning from swallowing coolant.

Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90°C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers.

Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.

Switch on ignition

Adjust heater to maximum heat output

Unscrew the cap (1) on expansion
reservoir (2)

 Turn the cap (1) slowly and release the excess pressure, then unscrew the cap (1).

Check coolant level and anti-freeze content coolant.

 If the antifreeze content of the coolant is too low, either antifreeze must be added or the coolant must be replaced.

Drain coolant, fill.

 Screw on test cap (3) at the expansion reservoir (2)

 Connect pressure pump (4)  at test cap (3)

Discharge cooling system with test pressure

 To prevent damage to the cooling system, do not exceed the stated test pressure

Checking

Check Henn couplings for all coolant hoses

 In order to prevent leaks at the engine, check the condition of the sealing rings and spring retainers; replace if required. Ensure the locking springs are exactly located. See 

Check coolant and heating hoses as well as their connecting points

 Check condition and coolant loss; replace coolant and heating hoses or their O-ring if required.



Install

 Unscrew test cap (3) at the expansion reservoir (2)

  Slowly reclose test cap (3), reduce excess pressure and  unscrew test
cap (3).


