Remove oil filter element from oil filter housing (5)

 To empty the oil filter housing (5), see: 

Replace oil filter element, drain oil filter



Remove poly-V belt

Remove poly-V belt tensioning device (3)

Remove guide pulley (4) for poly-V-belt



Detach top coolant hose (1) from coolant thermostat housing (2) and place it on the side

 Installation: Install new O-ring.

Remove coolant thermostat housing (2)



Remove bolts (5a)

 Installation: Observe bolt order and tightening torques:



Remove oil filter housing (5)

 Catch dripping engine oil in a pan.

Replace seal (5b)

Install in the reverse order



Checking

Using dipstick, check engine oil level approx. 5 minutes after switching off the warm engine, if required adjust to correct level

 The vehicle must be positioned horizontally on the wheels, otherwise incorrect measurements occur.

Insert dipstick fully in the dipstick guide tube and leave for at least 3 seconds.

 Danger!

Risk of accident caused by vehicle starting off by itself when engine is running. Risk of injury caused by contusions and burns during starting procedure or when working near the engine as it is running

Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving by itself.
Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes.
Do not touch hot or rotating parts.
