Open engine hood and raise to vertical position

Remove the partition wall between the wheelhouse liners

Remove air filter housing

Remove the electrical connector (2) at the hot film mass air flow sensor (B2/5)

Detach vent line (3) from hot film mass air flow sensor (B2/5)

Release vent line (4) from bracket at hot film mass air flow sensor (B2/5).

Open top catch (5) at top of hot film mass air flow sensor (B2/5)

Use a hook to pull up bottom catch (6) at top of air intake connection (7)

To do this, press the hot film MAF sensor (B2/5) so far back to the rear that the bottom catch (6) cannot get locked again.

Use a screwdriver to press down lock (8) on the air intake connection (7)

To do this, push the hot film mass air flow sensor (B2/5) as far back as possible, until the lock (8) cannot latch again.

Detach the hot film MAF sensor (B2/5) from the throttle valve actuator

Installation: Check sealing ring (9), replace if required. Check the sealing ring between air inlet connection (7) and hot film mass air flow sensor , replace if required. Check the top catch (5), bottom catch (6) and lock (8). If required, replace the locks or air intake connections (7).

Unclip the pneumatic line of the AIR management control system from the brackets at the air intake connection (7)

Install in the reverse order

Read out fault memory and erase if required

When replacing the hot film MAF sensor (B2/5).

Connect STAR DIAGNOSIS and read out fault memory

Conduct engine test run and check the intake system for leaks

If a leak is found, determine the cause and rectify, otherwise engine malfunctions may result.
