Remove/install oil-water heat exchanger at oil filter

Remove/install

Drain coolant

Remove top section of charge air manifold

Only on engine 646.984/985/986

Detach coolant hose (1) at oil-water heat exchanger (2)

 Installation: Check clamp, replace if necessary.

Unscrew bolts (3) at oil-water heat exchanger (2)

 Collect escaping coolant.



Remove oil/water heat exchanger (2)

 Collect overflowing engine oil.

 Installation: Clean sealing surfaces and install new gasket.

Install in the reverse order

Check engine oil level, correct if necessary

 The engine oil level must not be above the maximum mark. This can lead to engine damage.
