3 | Check metal hoses (1), collapsible sections (2), pipe clamps (3) and suspension elements for condition and proper assembly | ||
4 | Check assembly slots (4) at pipe connections for sufficient overlap | Traces of soot are an indication of leakage. | |

5 | Start engine and run at idling speed | ||
6 | Seal off exhaust tailpipes | Seal with suitable aids (e. g. plugs, plate etc.), in order to increase a high exhaust gas pressure. | |
7 | Check exhaust system at pipe and flange connections for escaping exhaust gas | Particularly at points close to sound proofing and insulation materials. Leaky parts of the exhaust system have to be replaced (against separate order). | |
8 | Switch off engine | ||
9 | Attach engine compartment encapsulation |
