| Disassemble | ||
Consider the front side of the valve, the side opposite to the identification plate.
| Remove the cover (46). | Remove it from the guides.
| Remove the right support (41), the left support (37) and the torsion springs (38) and (40). | The right support is identified with the letter “R” and the left one with the letter “L”. Mark the position of the springs, however, the right side torsion spring is usually identified with red ink.
| Remove the elastic pin (47), the handle (48) and the protectors (45) and (44).
| Remove the guide plate (43) and the cam (39). | The guide plate (43) has the letter “R” etched on the right side. This position corresponds to the side opposite to the identification plate.
| Remove from housing (6), bolts (4), cover (5) and sealing ring (3). | It is not necessary to remove exhaustion pipe (1).
| Remove from inside the housing (6), bushing (7), washer (10), spring (11) and plunger (12).
| Remove from the plunger (12), bolt (18), safety ring (17), bushing (16) and spring (15).
| Remove the sealing rings (13), (8) and (9).
| Loosen the valve seat (25). | Use a 4 mm Allen key, inserting it through the lower orifice.
| Loosen bolts (42) and remove the intermediate housing (36) together with the plunger rod (29). | Mark the intermediate housing (36) position.
| Remove from the intermediate housing (36), sealing ring (19), plunger rod (29) and the sealing ring (33).
| Remove the spring plate (32), the spring (31), the washer (28), the disk (26), the valve seat (25) and the shims (30). | Keep the adjustment shims (30) together to be used in the assembly.
| Remove piston (24) and the sealing ring (23) from the plunger.
| Remove the valve plate (22), the spring (21), the bushing (20) and the sealing ring (19).
| Clean | ||
| Clean the components and check the parts for wear. | Use an adequate product to clean the rubber and plastic components, otherwise, such components can be damaged.
The parts belonging to the repair kit must be replaced at every disassembly work.
| Assemble | ||
| Assemble in the housing (6), the piston set (14), the piston (12), the spring (15), the bushing (16), the safety ring (17) and the sealing ring (13).
| Assemble the piston (12), the spring (11), the washer (10) and the bushing (7) with the sealing rings (8) and (9).
| Assemble the sealing ring (3), the lower cover (5) with the assembled exhaustion (1) and install bolts (4). | Apply the specified torque on bolts (4).
| Assemble in the housing (6), the sealing ring (19), the bushing (20), the spring (21), the valve plate (22), the piston (24) with the assembled sealing ring (23) and the shim (30). | The adjustment shims (30) are used to increase or reduce the spring pressure (31). In used valves, keep the same set of shims that were spared during disassembly.
| Assemble the spring (31) and the valve seat (25) together with the disk (26). | Insert the 4 mm Allen key through the discharge orifice and press the valve seat (25) inward.
| Assemble the spring (27), washer (28) and the spring plate (32).
| Assemble, on the intermediate housing (36), the sealing ring (33), the piston rod (29) and the sealing ring (19). | Together, these components form a kit.
| Assemble the components of the formed kit on the cover (34) and screw the valve seat (25) to the piston rod (29). | Confirm the correct position of the intermediate housing (36) and insert bolts (42), tightening them with the specified torque.
| Assemble the cam (39) on the intermediate housing (36). | The letter “R” must point to the identification plate side.
| Assemble the guide plate (43), protectors (44) and (45), handle (48) and insert the elastic pin (47). | Assemble the guide plate (43) on the right side and check its correct position.
| Assemble torsion springs (38) and (40) | Check the spring positions.
| Assemble the right (41) and left (37) supports and apply torsion to the springs (38) and (40). | Check that the right support is marked with the letter “R” and the left one with the letter “L”.
| Carefully assemble the cover (46). | Move the lever and check its movements.
| Test | ||
| Install the parking brake valve on the bench to carry out the test. | Knorr valves version I 89935.
| Device that measures the angle of the parking brake manual valve lever. |
